Story: book of lyrical poetry called “Asceticism” by Vasily Chernyavsky. He is an inventive eccentric pianist and experimental poet, intensely romanticizing everything in the world (around and inside). A man, going not with time, but against time. Ukraine-Israel. While we were making this book, we experienced a number of crises, such as a broken arm, the outbreak of war in Israel, and Vasily’s urgent immigration
My role:
This project is special for me – I have been creating more than 120 illustrations for for almost 7 months.
Results:
This gave the book a distinctive style and emphasized the uniqueness and importance of each poem.
working process
This is a collection of more than 150 poems. The poet Vasily Che lived in Tel-aviv (Israel), I lived in Kyiv, so I did the work online. The color blue was taken as the basis – the common color for the flags of Israel and Ukraine. Technique: watercolor and gouache on paper.
A square shape was also chosen as a symbol of equivalence. The book contains honor dividers – they are made using the technique of peeling paint on the walls
